Wang Mang, who had been regarded as the most devious cheater or the greatest reformer by later people, was a famous politician in the lateness of the Western Han Dynasty that Liu Bang who was a heroic chief of rising in rebellion against Qin Dynasty which was the most brutal dynasty in Chinese history built.

In the youth of Wang Mang, he was very kind and just to people, so that people were best hopeful about him. With people’s support, he took place of the emperor of Han Empire and built Xin Dynasty, which meant a new dynasty. He loved the system of Zhou Dynasty, the prefect system he admired. He thought people would be happy if the great system was restored. Accordingly, Wang Mang tried his best to restore the rules of rites and the systems of land-ownership, administration and coinage of Zhou Dynasty.

Wang Mang was very assiduous, and he wasn’t close to attractive women. But because of mistakes of constituting officials and hasty changes, civilians didn’t benefit, and the situation was even more harmful to them. On another side, the reform which was in order to benefit civilians was hated by lords. So lords and civilians rebelled against Wang Mang. Wang Mang was killed. Though people including lords and civilians hated him extremely, hundreds of persons who were loyal to Wang Mang died for protecting their emperor.
