In the Museum of the Yang Mausoleum (阳陵), there are plenty of valuable cultural relics which were unearthed from the area around the mausoleum. There are a large number of pottery figures of humans and animals. These pottery figures vividly show the brilliant social scenes of the Han Empire.
We excitedly found that, the Han Empire had cavalry women. The appearance of the pottery figures of cavalry women is horrific, because their cheekbones are high. So some historical scholars says these cavalry women were from some Western ethnic group. According to historical books, the Han Empire really had a troop of cavalry who were from Western ethnic groups. They were loyal to the Han Empire and bravely fought against the Huns. However, soldiers from other ethnic groups were not the main forces of the Han Empire, because the Han Empire had rich and reliable sources of troops from the Huaxia people, the founder of the great empire. Why do the pottery figures of the cavalry women have so horrific appearance? Perhaps the reason was that: Some women didn't have good looks, and they couldn't marry an excellent husband, so they preferred to join the army and fight for their motherland and for their honor. Two cavalry women were remembered by craftsmen, so the pottery figures of cavalry women have such horrific appearance. Let's remember the women who once fought for their motherland and for their honor.
