In the centralized times since 221 B.C., the Song Dynasty was the only fantastic dynasty. The dynasty had loose politics, developed commerce and commendable social welfare.
The Ming Dynasty was not a commendable dynasty, because of its cruel totalitarian rule. The dynasty was destroyed by the Manchus, so it often gets sympathy.
A word says, "After the battle in Yashan, there was no China any more." After the Song Dynasty was destroyed by the Mongolians, a big part of Chinese civilization was lost. The Ming Dynasty was much influenced by the Mongolians, and the Ming's founder even regarded the Mongolian Yuan Empire as a dynasty with legitimacy.
By the way, are you aware that in the Western Media and Universities they portray the Ming dynasty as isolationist and xenophobic, while they claim that the Tang and Song dynasties were the real civilizational genius that propelled Chinese civilization forward technologically and culturally. The Ming is portrayed as stagnant, xenophobic and retrograde. It is claimed by western scholars that the Ming had banned chinese merchants from trading with and travel to foreign countries, whereas, the greatest trade armada that the world had ever seen was commissioned by the Song & Tang dynasties. According to these scholars, the Song/Sung dynasty produced the greatest advances in Chinese technology (the maritime compass, the Petroleum and Natural Gas Drilling Rig, the mechanical water pump, gunpowder, the massive cargo ships (later copied by Westerners) and other amazing inventions that put China far ahead of Europe technologically. It has been stated by these scholars that it was the incompetence, backwardness and corruption of the Ming dynasty that condemned all of China to be ruled by cruel, vicious and criminal foreign raiders. I am ignorant on this subject (as are many other readers of this site), would you be kind enough to dispel our ignorance on these matters and clarify which Dynasty contributed the greatest to Chinese technology and culture and which one lead to China's fall?
Hello,
Thank you for a very informative explanation of the real devastating effects of the evil Manchu/Qing rule of China. Would you be kind enough to post on your website pictures/diagrams of real Chinese clothes, hairstyles, etc. before the barbaric influence of the Qing/Manchu was inposed on China?
I full understand your point of view on this, my own country, India, was over-run by foreign thieving barbarians, i.e. the British, during a period when my ancestors had just exhausted themselves in a massive civil war that saw the real Indian people (Hindus and Buddhists) finally defeat and crush the Turko-Muslim armies that had ruled India for 400 years. Just like the Manchu that swept in during civil war chaos, so too did the pirate British. And just like you describe has happened in China, many Indians today have no idea how their clothing, customs and culture have been distorted by both Muslims and British, thinking many foreign clothings (from Muslims and British) and customs are original Indian. The British like the Manchu also tried to destroy our history; they destroyed or distorted many books that showed the national spirit and accomplishments of the Indian people. For instance many people think the Indian sword was a curved sword (the tulwar), it is not, the tulwar was a muslim sword, the real Indian sword was a straight tempered steel long sword. Even today the Indian movie industry behave like monkeys showing curved-sword talwars and wrong clothing in historical films of 1500BC when Indian swords were always straight. Indian leaders behaved like fools thinking everything the British did was good, which is why Mao Zedong was right in calling the Indian Leader Nehru 走狗 of the West (running dog of the West), which he really was.
I hope China rebuilds the beauty and genius of it's real culture back, I hope now it is happening. What about Mandarin language (普通话) was that also changed by the Jurchen/Manchu ? What do you think of the Song dynasties? Westerners think the Song Dynasties were more advanced than the Ming, is that true?
most dogs live a very harsh life there now due to the lack of animal protection law and birth control
