At July 5th 2007, in Zhengzhou (郑州) City of Henan (河南) Province, fifty-two American students from Stanford University, Cornell University, Colorado State University and other universities came to the Confucian Temple (文庙) and attended a ceremony in memory of Confucius. The American college students dressed in authentic Chinese Clothing and behaved as ancient Chinese proprieties.
Nowadays, there is a movement of restoring authentic Chinese Clothing in China. The pioneers who wear ancient styles of Chinese Clothing personally and show them in public deserve to be respected. If there are not their actions, the people still think that these clothes are just ancient things, not a kind of national symbol. About the misapprehensions of many people, some are funny.
Ancient China was greatly famed for her illustrious civilization, and she was the model of the Oriental civilization during thousands of years. Korea and Japan, the two neighbors of China, were deeply influenced by ancient Chinese civilization, from the clothing to the soul. Japanese learned mainly from the Han and Tang Dynasties of China, while Korean learned mainly from the Song and Ming Dynasties of China. So the two nations have many differences. Japanese digested the warrior spirit of the Han and Tang Dynasties, but Korean were immersed in the gentle principles of Confucianism.
These pictures are photos of young Chinese people who recognize the importance of restoring authentic Chinese Clothing in modern China. Since the APEC meeting in 2001, more and more young Chinese people have started to think about the kind of clothing that is representative of the great Chinese culture. They have found by exploring the ancient history of the past several thousand years, that their ancestors had the most beautiful clothing. It is this clothing that is called Huaxia Clothing or Han Clothing, which in fact is the authentic and beautiful Chinese Clothing.
These seven pictures are stills from the TV drama "the Times of Zhenguan" (贞观之治). "Zhenguan" (贞观) was the year-title (年号) of the reign of Tang Tai-Zong (唐太宗) who was the second emperor of the Tang Dynasty and an excellent statesman. This TV drama is about the history of the reign of Tang Tai-Zong.

The Qin State was created feudally in 770 B.C., because Qin Xiang-Gong (秦襄公), the chief of Qin tribe, escorted Zhou Ping-Wang (周平王) to migrate the east. In the Warring-States Period, Qin State attached importance on military development, and became the strongest country militarily. In the 3rd century B.C., Qin State annexed other six states and built Qin Empire in 221 B.C..
