I am an introverted person. Maybe because of this kind of character, I can be deeply attached to ancient books, and delve into literal words for deep meaning. Many young persons think ancient books are boring, but these books become an important part of my life. They bring me pleasure or sadness. If you can understand ancient people, their feelings are also yours.

Reading books about history and culture is my favorite thing all along. This feeling was from reading matters such as "All Five Thousand Years" and historical picture-story books in my childhood. When I was still a middle school student, I determined to read ancient originals of a long list. College life brought me an opportunity to do what I like to do. The first ancient book which I read was "The Zuo's Explanation of the Spring-Autumn Classic". This book has been the most important thing which influenced my heart and changed my philosophy. Why does the Zuo's Explanation has so great glamor? It expresses noble principles which are unselfish, faithful, steadfast and chivalrous; moreover, it shows the Huaxia nationalism and democratic spirit. After I read the Zuo's Explanation, the philosophy from school education and media publicity collapsed at once.

When I was a postgraduate student, the rich resource of the library let me have a chance to read more books. I read not only ancient Chinese works, but also the Western works. "The Greek Way" written by Edith Hamilton fascinated me. The book shows universal values which are applicable to not only the Occidental countries, but also the Oriental countries. A person who lived in the Spring-Autumn and Warring-States Era was able to write a book "The Chinese Way", because he or she was a free citizen of the Huaxia States. A person who lived in the Han Empire also was able to write a book "The Chinese Way", because his or her homeland was glorious and admirable. But now, we should introspect...

Let's encourage each other!
