Dayuan (大宛) was an ancient country in modern-day Fergana of the Middle Asia. This country had a kind of famous horse which was called “blood-sweat horse” (汗血马), because the sweat of this kind of horse looks like blood. In the history, there were two wars for the “blood-sweat horse”.

In the last days of the Warring-States Period, the Huns (匈奴) harried the north borders of the northern Chinese states. So the several states built long walls for resisting the Hun. Later, the Qin (秦) Empire linked the original long walls of the states and built new walls, and then all the walls were called “The Great Wall”.
